Often Ambitious is for photographers, creatives, and entrepreneurs who want to work less, make more, and build a business that actually supports their life, not one that runs it.
Hosted by business strategist Alora Rachelle, this show is grounded in lived experience. Alora built a six-figure wedding photography business while raising kids, then went on to help wedding photographers generate over $3 million in collective revenue through Wedding Atelier. She’s done the work, questioned the rules, and helped others stop overworking for underwhelming results.
Each episode cuts through the noise with conversations about profitable pricing, boundaries without apology, authority without hustle, and growth that leaves room for creativity, rest, and a life you don’t need a vacation from.
If you’re ambitious but done with burnout, performative busywork, and chasing success that costs you everything else, Often Ambitious is for you.

Welcome to the last episode of this podcast series. How to Book 10K Weddings. This is the juicy episode that you have been waiting for, and I am going to deliver how exactly you're going to book 10K weddings with these three gaps completely closed in your business from here on out. The first one is your portfolio, and I'm just gonna tell you, the difference between a 3K and a 10K portfolio is a bunch of different things, but we'll just simplify it down to just a few. Consistency, whether it is the way that your images look. Storytelling. Do your images tell a story? What are they telling your future client about what it's like to work with you? It's not just about lighting, presets, and posing. It's about intentionality and curation. A 10K portfolio tells a story, a very specific story about a very specific kind of wedding, and that's told through images that were selected because they speak to a couple who has a 70K, 100K budget, not a couple that is squeezing a 20K budget. Most photographers show too many images saying too many things, and half the time they're not even saying the right thing. The amount of website reviews and portfolio reviews I do where people say, "Oh, I gotta change that image. It's been there for a year or two." Great. You don't wanna shoot barns. Why do you still have barn weddings on your website, right? It could be that simple of a tweak. It's a lot more convoluted than that, but I feel like most photographers are just showing, "Oh, this is what I can do," but premium photographers are understanding that less is more and showing their best images curated specifically for the kind of client they want to attract. That's our best of image process inside of Wedding Atelier, and it only takes a few minutes. Your portfolio should be communicating the value of your services, the kinds of weddings you like to shoot, and the images that you provide couples. They need to know what they're gonna get if they decide to work with you. If they think they're gonna get a different thing, depending on which venue and which day, that's a 3K portfolio, you wanna make sure that your Instagram looks so tight and curated and very specific and intentional and strategic that a couple can take a glance at your grid and be like, "Yep, she's the one I wanna work with," or, "Oh, I don't think we're the best fit." That's how quickly of a decision your portfolio is the second gap is your brand and messaging. Is it crystal clear? Is it specific? Or is it wedding photographer in X state? Yeah. They are looking for a photographer who feels like a match for the experience that they want, and if they have a wedding planner, and they have this huge budget and team, then they wanna make sure that you can execute that. You can execute it the way that they had envisioned it. They're not googling best photographer near me. They are typing in specific keywords because they know exactly what they want. If your website, your About page, and your Instagram captions sound like they could belong to any photographer in any city, then they're scrolling past you. And it's not because your work isn't good enough, okay? 'Cause you're amazing, you're incredible. But it's because your brand isn't speaking the language they're looking for. The artist story framework is how you're gonna build the brand that speaks directly to that couple. Your purpose behind your business, your process that you deliver, your personality that is you the photographer, is gonna be woven into every single touch point so that when they do land on their website, they're gonna be like, it's them or nobody. Let's book a call Please say you're available for my wedding date." If you're not calling a specific style and a specific kind of client, they're just not gonna find you. You only come when you're invited. Your messaging is the invitation for them to work with you And the third gap is the sales and inquiry process. Getting a luxury inquiry is only half of the equation, because what happens between inquiry to booking is going to confirm whether they made the right choice or it gives them the reason to keep looking. And so we have a Booked by Sunday system inside of Wedding Italia that walks a couple from first inquiry to signed contract in under a week, without pressure, without chasing them, without following up saying, "Hey I'll discount it $500 if you book tomorrow." No. No. That is not the energy that we are trying to exude here. We are not discounting. And Your bespoke proposal is also designed specifically to call in premium clients with everything that you discussed on the call, and then you're gonna infuse the Art of Yes sales call script, which is gonna guide you through a serving sales process From them looking at your starting average price to booking the highest package with add-ons without feeling salesy. This is what a sales system looks like And not only are these the gaps that we solve inside of Wedding Atelier not only do we solve these three gaps, you get support. You get me, a wedding sales coach who built almost a million dollar business doing all of these three things and helping my photographer students make three million dollars collectively with this process inside of this program. And you get all of it inside of Wedding Atelier for less than the price of one booked wedding. One wedding in exchange for 12 months of support to have you double, triple, and possibly book 10K weddings The process to 10K is quite simple. You're just going to elevate everything that got you to the three to 5K range Instead of just throwing up a DIY website, we are gonna help you curate every single page of your website, we give unlimited portfolio reviews inside this program, so you can get your portfolio tweaked and curated and critiqued on what is actually coming across as luxury and what's coming across as 3K We will give you that feedback we also have a wedding copy sales coach where you can submit your website page by page and get line-by-line copy support and how to update it and make sure your messaging is crystal clear, and that what you're saying you want to attract and what you're saying on your website and Instagram are actually aligned. That is the biggest issue that we have inside this program is closing the gap between what you want versus what you're saying. We have a wedding sales copy coach to help you do that within a day And instead of... And I wanted this program to feel like a collective of sales consultants, because I love done for you and I love done with you. DIY is so 2020, right? I get it. I don't want you to just come into a program, binge a course, and then have to implement so much by yourself, and that's why we have a sales copy coach. That's why we have a luxury wedding coach. That's why we have an SEO coach where she looks up your website And gives you the information for what it's ranking for in your keywords. That way your long-term marketing, whether you do show up or not, does end up working for you. And I suggest you set this up as soon as your rebrand is done or as soon as your website is finalized, because you want your SEO to work for you next year and the years to come, whether you do or don't show up on Instagram. Yes, you do have to market, but if you use all of the marketing levers that we provide you inside of the program, you don't need to market on Instagram forever. You can if you want a quick inquiry, it's totally possible to do that, but if life happens and you need to rely on your Google search, your keyword research to work for you next year, then you can. You should be able to pull any marketing lever in your business and know that it's going to deliver an ROI. Instead of just posting on Instagram and getting discouraged because nobody looks at it, nobody likes it, which we're all dealing with that right now, but the whole point is to post very intentional, strategic content that calls in those dream clients that were searching for you to inquire with you. And it's just that simple, because positioning is all about putting out what you wanna get back, but we want you to be so aligned that you'll become incomparable, and the saturated market, will not even apply to you because you're doing something different and you're doing it your own way. And that's the beauty of wedding photographers. Your personality makes you different. Your why makes you different from everybody else. Nobody has the exact same why. I have mentored over 1,000 students since 2016, and nobody has the exact same why. Nobody has the exact same process, and nobody has the exact same personality, which makes you completely different from the "competition." And so we wanna help you uncover your secret sauce. We wanna really enlighten those testimonials. Their clients are raving about you, and you don't even know what it is that makes you special. And we're just gonna take that, and we're gonna elevate that to the highest degree so that you're only speaking to high-level clients. We're not going to the bottom of the pyramid and fighting for inquiries and fighting for weddings and getting discouraged because your prices were too high at $5,500. No. There is a gap, and we need to close it, and we're gonna help you do that. 80% of our students make their investment back in the first 30 days, because all you have to do is book one wedding. If you just book one wedding in 30 days, the program paid for itself, and then you get 12 months of support as you raise your prices, double them, triple them, whatever you wanna do. Make 100K with less than 20 weddings. We help you do all of that and more You don't have to wait until you feel like a wealthy wedding photographer to start positioning like one today. The positioning comes first, and the feeling will follow after. Every single photographer inside of Wedding Atelier who is now booking 7K, 9K, 10K, 20K weddings and above, they're making the decision today to show up before they feel ready. That's where the confidence comes from. Being delusional today so that you can be confident tomorrow, And just keep showing up until it works, and I promise you, it will every single time. That's what Julia did when she joined our program. She was in the wedding industry for over 10 years starting at 6K and getting rejected every single time. she submitted her prices to me for feedback, and I told her I ripped them apart and I said, "Yeah, no. We're not doing 6K. That is the dead zone. Okay? You're shooting strictly film." I said, "You just need to reposition because you're telling me this. Your website does not communicate that. Your images don't communicate that. Your portfolio doesn't communicate that. Let's change all of that." In two weeks, she booked a 10K wedding, and she's now booking 20K, 30K, 40K weddings and beyond, and that is why she's our luxury wedding photographer coach inside of the program because she's also helping our students do the same thing. Like Sammy, who was booking $3,600 weddings and now is booking 10K weddings after getting her portfolio, her website, her copy audited. Every single thing has been repositioned, and now she's booking 10K weddings and above. You just have to make the decision. You just have to decide, do, and don't give up.
